Velliangiri Hills – Coimbatore…

This should be a really interesting stuff to put in writing with a lot of credible illustrations... I am not dashing off geographical illustrations that could possibly give you the finest fathoming of what the hills are; with a simpler yet hopefully vivid explanation rather….

Before you read, all you need to have is an uncompromising presumption to the content… These hills form the north western parts of the Coimbatore city and to what the backside of it is Kerala squarely… The hills contribute to the Nilgiri Biosphere as well with prominently getting to be called the “Then Kailayam”…

Yeah … with an unequivocally philosophical explanation, things could become considerably neater…. Kanyakumari is predicatively a young woman that finally went figurine at the southern most tip of India with a failure mission on marrying Lord Shiva… People daresay that she had the most sublime and unfeigned love towards the Lord making her the most idiomatic of all humans… Lord shiva ascertained that he could not make it on time and with all anger and letdown, he is supposed to have reached Velliangiri hills meditating in all the seven hills…

Yatra or Pilgrimage here isn’t that easy…Climbing all 7 hills demand sincere devotion and constancy alongside patterned mantra chanting… oddly true is that women aren’t allowed to move uphill because they go missing due to the sacred power of the Lord… The only help that a pilgrim can get is the bamboo stick to travel over all seven hills... As conventionally advised, you shouldn’t look back or look down which can cause undisputable fear with a pull that can take you tumbling down…

So next are the foothills… These have the most incredible hill views and lush green vegetation… If you are a hardcore “undiscovered routes” lover, here is something that you can successfully operate on… The hills contain a lot of stunning routes with many still unpopular… You have an open still less known forest route from Poondi-Narasipuram via the foothills… An oldest route tracks from Kovai Kutralam to Siruvani through which you can move to Kerala on just a 15 minute journey… All this exists because the western ghats are interconnected and house routes to all places through hill mapping…

Coming back to Vellingiri hills, pilgrims throng in the seasons of ChitraPournami in older days... But now, Isha Foundation or the Dhyanalingam invites crowd even on exceptional dates…. The Hills provide water through Pambatti Chunai (at the end of second hill), Kai Thatti Chunai (at the end of third hill) and Andi Chunai (sixth hill)….

If you are planning to visit Coimbatore, make sure that there is a day fixed for the extreme west visit…If you are a practiced hiker, You can go on discovering a lot more absorbing areas hosting jaw dropping short cuts and routes…
